I am Penny Hall, hand sculpted leather artist
….also known as “the blessing bowl lady”The Blessing Bowl Lady, that’s me. The first one was created in 2003 as a therapy project when I was diagnosed as legally blind. I did not want the word “blind” to stick in my subconscious. After donating the second one to an auction where it brought a surprising amount of money my art career was born. What is a blessing bowl? It is a container to hold all the good things in life. My journey through multiple eye surgeries and life changes taught me to stop looking for the worst in life. I learned to shift my focus to see all the good things and count my blessings daily. The blessing bowls are my ambassadors to remind their owners to look for the blessings in their life. There are a couple of ways to purchase my bowls. Visit one of the outlets listed on the Galleries page or contact me to purchase from my studio. The portfolio section shows a sampling of my leather designs. When you enlage the image click on the “info” tab to find the current location of the piece. I am always looking for new outlets and welcome wholesale inquiries. My studio is located in the rural community of Ennis, Montana along the Madison River. I live, play and work here with my artist husband Ken W. Hall and our cat Mystic. I invite you to visit us often through a blog I created in 2008 to answer the question “what’s it like to live here year round?” My Montana Moments has taken on a life of its own with regular visitors from all over the world. My husband contributes many of his amazing images of the beloved big sky country we call home.
